You should give it a go one time. You don't have to do the full 24hrs. It's a good excuse to cancel everything for reading, lol.
To be honest I have felt this way about YA for a while now. A very good friend of mine works in a children's library and it's rare for her to read anything but. She usually pushes new titles on to me. In the last year though I have hated more than I have liked and these are books I know I would have enjoyed in the past. I will probably still read them as she passes them on to me since I have liked the occasional one. I just won't be buying them myself. I do have a few in my tbr pile still and will probably read most of those too.KarenSihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17875454663363953921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924802320400229726.post-52744364764582384932011-04-10T13:37:13.329-07:002011-04-10T13:37:13.329-07:00I am in complete awe of you Readathoners! Interesting for you to realize you are thinking you are done with YA. Maybe it took a readathon to burn you out?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924802320400229726.post-55288314034369945282011-04-10T10:41:29.255-07:002011-04-10T10:41:29.255-07:00You are right. It was limited to point horror and sweet valley (am exaggerating slightl). I quickly moved onto other things thanks to that but at the same time I feel like I missed out.

You're right about Shiver. It is about knowing your going to lose someone. I trivialised it slightly because I was tired and I didn't particularly like it. I didn't hate it either mind you. It wasn't badly written. The characters were likeable and I think had I read it maybe even only a year ago I would have loved it.KarenSihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17875454663363953921noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924802320400229726.post-55735375063589562522011-04-10T08:40:26.699-07:002011-04-10T08:40:26.699-07:00I think it's important to read lots of differe...I think it's important to read lots of different genres. When I was a teen we never had 'young adult' books so I never got into the habit of reading them. I sometimes read one if I want to rest my brain or it's by an author I already love. Saying that I thought Shiver was really well done - but I thought it was more about knowing you're going to lose someone than about werewolves.Elliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14377404526123600035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924802320400229726.post-42244083488876369852011-04-10T07:40:45.666-07:002011-04-10T07:40:45.666-07:00That does sound like a good mix! I wish I'd read more though. I did take a long lovely nap from 2-4 and 4:30 to 7 AM. And planning to read more today. So call it an accumulation of 24 hours...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
