It’s Monday! What Are You Reading is where we share what we read this past week, what we hope to read this week…. and anything in between! D This is a great way to plan out your reading week and see what others are currently reading as well… you never know where that next “must read” book will come from! This is a meme from Book Journey.
This Week I read;
Roadside Crosses by Jeffery Deaver
City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare (which has resulted in a 6 month holiday from YA)
Heroes Vol1 by various authors
Casino Royale by Ian Fleming (LOVED it)
Around the World In 80 Days by Jules Verne (will review it later)

Sounds like you have some great books!
ReplyDeleteAre you saying the Cassandra Clare book wasn't any good, for you at least? I'm not a YA reader but this book seems interesting.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week this week!
It wasn't that it wasn't good. It was just that for me the story had ended with book three. I didn't really feel the need to see what the characters did next and I wish that I hadn't read this one. As a result I began to dislike some of them. Jace in particular who came across as wanting to have his very own pity party. I have been disappointed with a lot of YA recently. Either I have moved on or it's just the mood I am in. I think giving myself a 6 month break will be a good way to tell.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week too.
I read all the old Ian Fleming stories years ago - great fun, and I got to mentally change up the casting between Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton. :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my reading selections for this week.
I see, Karen. It sounds like this book was one too many, just cashing in on the hype. I had this with Hunger Games # 3. I didn't particularly enjoy that book and I'd just as rather not read it.
ReplyDeleteBut my sons (12 and 13) liked it just fine. I guess it's more for their age anyway.
Yeah, I think so although everyone else has been raving about it.
ReplyDeleteI quite liked the third hunger games book although there were parts of it that I could have lived without.
Thank you for comment! I hope I like "One Day" too. I just saw the movietrailer and figured I had to read the book first.
ReplyDeleteSeems a lot of people are rereading or reading The Iliad this week. Must be a fun rad-a long.

You had some serious reading this past week and I did not even know that heroes was a graphic novel....
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this week too :)
I read through Ian Flemming's Bond books when I was a teenager. They were lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteMy list this week is inflated with picture books that I read with my daughter and manga that I read over my morning coffee. Come see what I'm reading this week.
Oh! I loved Heroes as a TV show, I didn't know they were now graphic novels. I may have to check into this since I'm a big fan of graphic novels! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fabulous reading week and if you get a second stop my to see what I've been reading at There's A Book! :)
The Heroes graphic novel came out not long after the first few seasons. They were posted online first (although I didn't know that until I actually read the first one last week). I wish I had read them when I was into the show as they do give a lot of background into the characters.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you liked Casino Royale so well! I've heard those are more guy kinds of books, but I may have to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteHopping by to say Hi~
ReplyDeleteEnjoy reading~
