It's Monday! What Are You Reading!

It's another week of sharing what we've read. This a book meme by Sheila of Book Journey.

This week I read;
The Burning Wire by Jeffery Deaver (not my favourite Deaver book)

A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Marting (this was a re-read and I loved it even more the second time round).

Just now I am reading;
The Hidden Child by Camilla Lackberg (this is for my book group and I'm not impressed with it at all).

Mary Tudor by Anna Whitelock (this is for the books I should have read by now challenge. Picked it up early because I'm not enjoying my current book).

Next I plan on reading;
The Bachman Books by Stephen King (again for the books I should have read by now challenge. Been a while since I read any King so looking forward to this).

What have you been reading?

  1. Looks like a great line-up. I'm just finishing up Steven King's On Writing and loving it so much I want to revisit some of his early works and pick up some of the ones I missed along the way. It's been a long time!

  2. The Long Walk in the Bachman Books still makes me so angry 20 years after I read it! I hated the ending and I remember throwing it across the room when I finished it. I guess that it is good that it made such a strong impression that I remember it so much. LOL

  4. I hate it when group reads or other books you don't feel completely free to abandon don't make me happy to read.

  5. Trish I loved On Writing. I would happily read it again I think. Found it very interesting. It had that effect on me too.

    Heather, I have heard that some of the Bachman books aren't as good so I'm reading it with middling expectations. Although I think some of Kings endings had that effect on me. The end of the Dark Tower series springs to mind.

    Deb I highly recommend Game of Thrones. I think both fantasy and historical fiction fans could get something out of it.

    RAnn the way my book group works you don't have to actually read the book if you don't want to. If you didn't fancy it then just recommend a book you did read that month. That way there is less pressure. Since I organise it though I kind of feel obliged to finish it.

  6. The Hidden Child sounded like one I wanted to read but you are not the first person I have seen that has not liked it so I am crossing it off my list.

  7. I don't know where the time goes! I quite liked the sound of Camila Lackberg's books so I'll wait to see your review. But at least if it's bad that's one less book I've got to worry about reading ;)

  10. Game of Thrones is one of the few fantasy books I actually want to attempt to read.

  11. Ellie, I know the feeling. I'm always surprised when Monday comes back round again. I was looking forward to the Lackberg book but completely disappointed by it.

    Mary Tudor is great so far but seem to be reading it far too quickly.
